UNFCCC COP27, EGYPT 🇪🇬
Africa Climate and Environment Foundation mobilized resources and supported 5 grassroots youth leaders from Cameroon 🇨🇲, Uganda 🇺🇬, Nigeria 🇳🇬, Kenya 🇰🇪, and Sierra Leone to attend UNFCCC COP27 in Egypt 🇪🇬. These young leaders shared their experiences, highlighted community-led climate solutions, and made sure African voices were heard on issues that matter most: climate change, plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, and unsustainable resource use. Their participation showed how local action connects to global solutions and reflected ACEF’s mission: empowering youth to tackle the planet’s biggest challenges, from their communities to the world stage.
UNFCCC COP28, Dubai
At COP28, the Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF) worked at the practical intersection of on-the-ground action, research, and policy, bringing real experiences from African communities into global climate discussions. ACEF shared lessons from grassroots climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihoods, while engaging with policymakers, researchers, and partners to ensure these realities informed conversations on loss and damage, climate finance, nature-based solutions, and a just transition. Through dialogue, knowledge exchange, and youth-led advocacy, ACEF helped bridge the gap between what communities are already doing on the ground and the policies and investments needed to scale effective, inclusive, and lasting climate solutions beyond COP28.
UNFCCC COP29, Azerbaijan 🇦🇿
At the global stage of the COP29, the Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF) amplified the voices of grassroots communities from coastal Kenya and across Africa. Represented by youth climate advocate Sharrif Injamu, ACEF showcased practical, community-driven solutions addressing marine conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. Through strategic engagements with global partners, policymakers, and civil society organizations, ACEF highlighted the urgent need to invest in locally led climate action—particularly initiatives empowering youth, women, and coastal communities who are on the frontline of climate impacts.
During the conference, ACEF successfully positioned grassroots innovation within global climate conversations, sharing experiences from mangrove restoration, marine litter management, and ocean literacy programs implemented along Kenya’s coast. These engagements opened pathways for collaboration, strengthened partnerships, and elevated the importance of supporting youth-led climate initiatives within international climate frameworks. ACEF’s presence at COP29 demonstrated that community-based solutions are not only impactful locally but are also essential contributions to achieving global climate goals.
Advancing Women's Leadership in Agri-Food Policy and Climate Resilience, Rwanda🇷🇼
The Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF) was proud to engage with inspiring young women leaders during the Young Women Leaders in Agri-Food Systems Program organized by the Pan African Farmers Organisation in Kigali, Rwanda. The program brought together emerging women leaders from across the continent and equipped them with the knowledge and skills needed to influence policy advocacy within agri-food systems, strengthening pathways toward sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient agriculture in Africa. At ACEF, we recognize that women are central to Africa’s agricultural productivity, yet they continue to face systemic barriers to land ownership, finance, and market access while remaining underrepresented in key decision-making spaces.
Through our engagement in this program, ACEF reaffirms its commitment to championing gender equality and climate resilience in agriculture by supporting policies and initiatives that empower women farmers and leaders. When women lead, climate-smart agriculture thrives, food security improves, and ecosystems are better protected. By amplifying women’s voices in agri-food policy and strengthening their leadership capacity, we are contributing to practical, action-driven solutions that advance resilient communities, sustainable livelihoods, and a food-secure future for Africa.
ACEF and SOWEDA Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Climate-Resilient Development in Cameroon
In March 2026, the Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF) formally entered into a strategic partnership with the South West Development Authority (SOWEDA) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at advancing climate-resilient rural development in Cameroon’s South West Region. The engagement was led by ACEF Founder, Tambe Honourine Enow, whose leadership continues to position the organization at the forefront of innovative climate solutions across Africa.

Ms. Tambe Honourine Sigining the MOU
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to tackling the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation while strengthening sustainable livelihoods for rural communities. Through this collaboration, ACEF and SOWEDA will jointly develop climate-smart development initiatives focused on ecosystem restoration, sustainable agriculture, community capacity building, and mobilizing international climate finance. The partnership also aims to unlock new opportunities through the development of a national carbon market framework aligned with the Paris Agreement. By combining SOWEDA’s institutional reach in rural development with ACEF’s technical expertise in climate governance and environmental sustainability, the collaboration is expected to catalyze impactful projects that empower communities and strengthen resilience across the region.
ACEF Entrusted to Represent Youth Constituency at the Kampala CAADP Declaration Workshop in Yaoundé, Cameroon
The Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF) was honored to participate in the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) Kampala Declaration Workshop held in Yaoundé, Cameroon from 11–13 March 2026, convened by CAADP Non-State Actors, GIZ, and CARE Cameroon. A key milestone from this engagement was the trust placed in ACEF to serve as the representative organization for the Kampala Declaration Youth Constituency in Cameroon, recognizing the foundation’s growing leadership in advancing youth participation in climate resilience and sustainable agrifood systems across Africa. The workshop focused on supporting Cameroon in domesticating and operationalizing the Kampala CAADP Declaration, translating continental commitments into national priorities, coordination mechanisms, and implementation pathways that deliver tangible outcomes for farmers, food systems workers, and communities most exposed to climate shocks. As the African Union’s flagship framework for agricultural transformation and food security, CAADP continues to strengthen investment, partnerships, and policy coordination across the continent. Through this mandate, ACEF is committed to amplifying youth priorities, strengthening collaboration among youth-led and youth-serving organizations, and advocating for policies that enable young people to access land, finance, skills, innovation, and markets, not merely as beneficiaries, but as co-designers and implementers of Africa’s resilient agrifood future.
